CP 24 CHUM CITY Christmas Wish!

This time of year we like to think of those who are in need in our community and what we can do to help them. You may have noticed some holiday cheer at the studio, and have received a letter explaining how we like to give back during the holidays.

In lieu of gifts for our teachers we ask that students bring in an unwrapped toy to donate to the CP 24 Chum city Christmas Wish. When you bring in a toy please see the front desk for a star, which you can decorate and place on our wall of fame. This way all of the teachers know who has brought in a gift on their behalf. In 2008 our studio dropped off more than 100 toys, and last year in 2009 we donated over 250 toys! We hope to beat last year's generosity!
We will be accepting gifts until the studio closes over the holidays. Please note the studio is closed from Sunday December 19th to Sunday January 2nd.

Costumes 2010/2011

Recreational Dancers: payments are due November 15^th, paid in full. All Nursery, Primary and Mini class costumes are $80.00 plus hst. All Junior, Intermediate and Teen class costumes are $88.00 plus hst. Please submit payment in payment envelope provided last week.

Competitive Dancers: Costume deposits are due November 15^th. For each dance we ask you submit a $75.00 deposit. Technique classes do not require costumes. Please submit payment in payment envelope.

Registration, shoes and dancewear!

Registration for the 2010/2011 season is off to a great start! Please do not forget to register early to avoid dissapointment. We already have some classses close to full, and will not let more than 15 dancers in any class.

Please come in to be fitted for your dance shoes and dancewear as soon as possible to ensure that they are here for your first class. Less than four weeks until dance starts!

Competitive offers

We have mailed out the competitive offers for the 2010.2011 season to all competitive dancers. You should receive a package including a competitive contract this week. Once you have received the package please call the studio to make a registration meeting. You will be able to register for desired classes as well as have one on one time to discuss any of your comments, questions or concerns. We ask that dancers attend these meetings with their parents. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

EDA recreational registration 2010/2011

Energy Dance Arts Inc.'s fall recreational registration is ongoing. We have a limit of 15 dancers in our classes with 2 teachers. Once our classes are full we will not accept any more registrations. We are open for registration from 4 pm to 8 pm Monday-Thursday and 9 am-3pm Saturdays. Dance shoes and clothing will be available at the studio starting the first week in August!

Summer camp

Our summer camp begins July 5th and runs in two week sessions until August 27th. Summer camp is the perfect opportunity to get some one on one attention and to try out various dance disciplines. Each day dancers have the opportunity to take at least 4 dance classes, participate in games, sports and arts and crafts.
Our qualified and energetic staff will entertain and safely supervise dancers while they develop their love for dance and fun.

Competitive Showcase

Our competitive showcase will be taking place this weekend, Sunday February 28th at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. The show begins at 9:30 a.m. and will be composed of our 39 competitive entries. It features 50 dancers aged 6-17 in lines, groups, trios/duets and solos in all disciplines. This is a great opportunity to see what we are all about and a fantastic opportunity for our competitive team to get the real competition feel. Tickets are $12.00 and are available at the studio or at the door. General Admission, doors open at 9:00 am.

Competitive team members: Don't forget about our party after the showcase. Please meet us at the studio for lunch!

We haven't posted in a while, so we have a lot of catching up to do;

THANK YOU to everyone who brought in a toy for the CHUM CITY/CP24 Christmas wish. Energy Dance Arts donated over 200 unwrapped toys this year! What a great accomplishment!

Competitive showcase: will be held at the Richmond Hill Theatre for the Performing Arts Sunday February 28th at 9:30 a.m.. Tickets are being sold at the studio and will be sold at the door at $12.00 each for general admission. Come support our fantastic competitive team!

Recital: Recital will take place at the Richmond Hill Theatre for the Performing Arts May 18th and 19th. There will be three shows:
18th: 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 pm
19th 7:30 pm

You will receive a recital package before march break outlining which shows each class will participate in. Ticket information will also be provided in the package.

Picture Day: We have arranged for a professional photographer to come to the studio before the recital to take individual and group shots. The photographer will be at the studio taking photos in April. Please stay tuned for more information.
